March 28, 2016 – Yesterday a break-away Taliban-affiliated group attacked Christians who had gathered in Lahore, Pakistan for Easter. A spokesperson reported that the suicide bombing was specifically targeting Christians. The explosion, which occurred near children’s rides, killed 72 people and injured more than 340. At least 24 children were killed in the explosion, which was perpetrated by islamic jihadists. On Monday much of the towns businesses and schools remained closed. The Taliban-splinter group, Jamat-ul-Ahrar, vowed more attacks such as this. Last year, in March, a suicide bombing in a Christian community in Lahaore killed at least 14 people and wounded many more. In 2013 a suicide bombing at a Christian church in Peshawar killed 80 people.
